Here is the portrait of Vanessa Augris, a fashion stylist that has just launched her eponymous brand…
« I was raised in Lome and I have always been interested in fashion. From a very early age I used to spend a lot of time at my aunt’s sewing workroom and at the age of 6 I was sewing my own dresses with the pieces of fabric that had fallen on the floor.
After highschool I attended a fashion school in Paris. I started my career in the textile department of a large retail company where I improved my knowledge about quality, textile importation and supply for 7 years. All this time I had more and more interest in clothing and I gained more technical knowledge about clothing in general. On the back of this work experience, I created my own brand with the first Spring-Summer 2013 collection that you can find on www.vanessaaugris.com.
In African fashion there are a lot of vivid colors. In Europe there is a different approach, especially in the winter where we find mostly dark colors like grey, black, etc. I wanted to make a collection that brings a touch of bright to European fashion. Wax fabric is very colorful. This made me want to work with this fabric in a western style to meet the needs of women from all over the world.
In my first collection you can business outfits as well as evening dresses. The clothes have a creative design and are all home made with quality materials :
- I use exclusively VLISCO cloth (made in Netherlands).
- Silk is imported from Italia
- Bags are decorated with genuine lambskin leather.
- Every lining is made of 100% cotton.
My brand is aimed at women who are looking for creative and quality products. On www.vanessaaugris.com, you can find a collection for women and children as well as featured accessories.
Besides in the category “Atelier”, you can order an existing model made of another fabric, color or size. You can also contact me if you want me to make a tailor made model with your specific requirements.
I deliver in every country but for the moment, I do not any physical store. However I sell my collection at events like private sales, exhibitions, etc. You can follow me on my Facebook fanpage Vanessa Augris to get the latest news. »
